Our stand at Bells Piece Gardeners Day 2004

Saturday 13th May, Bells Piece - Gardeners Open Day, 10am - 3pm, Bells Piece, Farnham.  We again attended this very popular event held every year at Bells Piece Horticulture, Hale Road, Farnham.  With local conservation, interest and wildlife organisations, cafeteria, games, "Gardeners Question Time" and plants at bargain prices from this popular horticulture charity.  Brickfields Country Park were there with the display stand, leaflets & photos to show the work of our volunteers and tell them about the park.  As always promised a good time was had at Bells Piece helping them to raise funds, and us to promote Brickfields Country Park, meeting friends old and new.  Subsequent to the day we have received a pack of black and white photos from a local lady who had taken them in the early 1990's, we are going to copy them for our albums and return the originals.

Another excellent event this year but so hot! with a steady stream of visitors all day playing games and petting the farm animals.  A few cakes, jams and drinks left over at the end but not too surprising given the weather!  We launched our petition asking for signatures objecting to the sale of land from Christmas Lodge, everybody approached agreed the land should not be sold, all signed.  Currently there are 145 signatures.

2006 Sponsors –

Without the help of local companies we would at times be unable to do some of our work in the park and also stage events like the Fun Day.  Our grateful thanks go to them.
